Foot Health Is Not A Minor Matter!

A Message From Owen Bernard, The Founder of The World Walk Foundation Jamaica Chapter:

Foot Health is not a minor matter.

Let us improve foot health and by so doing help to improve the quality of life for those people who are at risk or might have foot problems.

Join me in placing the emphasis on the prevention of amputation which is an expensive option!

We must look at the economic factor relating to amputation, the loss of productive man hours; time spent in the hospital. The places a huge burden on the health system.

Our thoughts and our focus must be on the prevention of amputation by developing community based programmes such as the Foot Care Assistant Level 1 Training Programme due to the paucity of Podiatrists in many countries.

Should any funds be donated to The World Walk Foundation Jamaica Chapter, it will be used to assist amputees in obtaining prosthetic limbs where possible.

Doctor Cornelius Donohue, the founder of World Walk Foundation in the USA, states the following: –

A Simple Human Right

Like basic health care, walking is something we take for granted in our daily lives, yet, this simple act unnecessarily eludes millions in the developing world.

I have been inspired by and continue to be inspired by Doctor Cornelius Donohue for the inspirational work that he has done and continues to do with regards to foot health in Jamaica, the Caribbean and indeed other parts of the world. This website seeks to highlight the Foot Care Assistant Level 1 Training Programme that is dedicated and in honour of Doctor Cornelius Donohue.
